About Bag O'Nails

Traditional pub with long bar, stripped floors, upstairs dining room and pavement tables.

First licensed by 1775 as the Devil & Bag O' Nails, the latter part of the name thought to be a Cockney derivation of the word Bacchanalia. It was rebuilt in 1838 as part of the development of Belgravia by Grosvenor Estates and is now Grade II listed and still retains an olde worlde atmosphere. Popular with local office workers and, as one of the closest pubs to Buckingham Palace, it also gets lots of tourists year-round. It has an upstairs dining room that can be hired for functions. Food includes pub classics, Sunday roasts, sharing platters, toasties and sandwiches, and some unusual bar snacks.

Note that alcohol is not for sale until noon on Sundays.

Watched EURO 2024 England game here. Got the spot at the table from the second half. Relatively not crowded pub. Super friendly staff and atmosphere. Food was good but portions not really big. Beer selection is not bad!

This place was something special, my wife and I just got to our hotel around the corner but our room wasn’t ready so we came here. We are both glad we did! They have in house beers as well as a variety other others. The beer was great, the service was also lovely. We ordered some food and it totally exceeded expectations. I got the steak and ale pie and my wife got the grilled cheese and pea with mint soup. We absolutely loved it, would highly recommend anyone to come stop by and enjoy

Steak pie, squid, cheese toasty and wine, all good and tasty. Service was awesome. We sat upstairs.

British pub in a convenient location. We stopped by for a late dinner. The pub was crowded but we easily found a table and the ambient noise wasn’t excessive. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food came quickly and was nice and hot. I had the Korean chicken burger and my wife had the chicken bacon sandwich. Both were very tasty! The beer was good as well. Overall a very pleasant dinner!

Excellent experience. The duck hash was a surprise treat. The mac n cheese was tasty. The chips were perfectly cooked. Ketchup and mayo available at the table.
