About Barrowboy & Banker

Grand, split-level pub in former bank with columns, chandeliers and sweeping staircase to mezzanine.

Fuller's Ale & Pie House bank conversion, opened in 1996. Grand establishment with very tall ground floor windows, pale marble columns, very high ceiling with fancy gold plasterwork, wrought-iron railings on the sweeping staircase leading up to a curved gallery, mix of seating, on the walls there are portraits of old bankers and three enlarged Hogarth-style cartoons that depict an "idle barrowboy" and "industrious banker" - surely some mistake! Exceptionally popular, great inclusive mix of after-work and commuter custom.

Place with a pretty ambience, like its accessibility (just across the train station). But the food, I think I’ve had much tastier versions for slightly lesser price. But given its location- can’t complain. Overall a pretty decent experience!

The food was incredible, one of my favorites in the UK so far! The fish and chips was really good and the beef pie as well! I will come back !

We just popped in here for a cold drink and a rest from the hot temperatures outside. We were immediately pleasantly met with a blast of cool air as we entered the premises, the air con was working well and much appreciated. The decor is very nice and the atmosphere was good with a nice buzz as we found a seat and enjoyed our wine. Definitely worth a visit and I'll be back the next time I come to visit the nearby Borough Market.

This pub has been here for as long as I know, and it's always a nice place to grab a drink with friends 🙂. Perfect location for London Bridge and just around the corner from Borough Market👍, lots of space inside with plenty of seats/tables. Service is quick (even when busy) decent selection of Beer on tap 👍

One of my favourite pubs…atmosphere, service, location - and the best pies ever!!! I always recommend the pies to my friends and they absolutely agree. Last night was a reunion with one of our friends and we went back to the place where we often gather so it was brilliant evening. And we had superb, funny and just exceptionally took care of us, Paolo!!!!!!!! … oh try the marmite roast potatoes- to die for!
