About Black Horse
An extended 19th century Grade II listed pub built on the site of an earlier 18th century incarnation which was struck by lightning in 1837. An open plan bar with a snug area with sofas to the left and restaurant area offering Indian cuisine to the far right. The pub has an over 21s policy. Live music is usually a feature on Friday evenings. Subscription sport is shown throughout the pub including the garden. Tuesday is poker league from 8-11pm. A £200,000 refurbishment took place in 2013 and the pub now offers food inspired by Kenya and India as well as the traditional steaks, pies and burgers!

Booked Koroga night for boys.. it was a great service and very helpful staff..nice private area was arranged for us to have good food and enjoy our koroga. Owner of Black horse just popped in to ask if everything was OK... that shows they care for their customers and provide them with best service so they have returning customers. Didn't have enough time for us to enjoy out doors due to local residents around there .. but they arranged for a table for us inside.. that was good. Live music was too loud, bar staff couldn't hear what we wanted to order. That can come down a notch or 2. Other…

Had planned to try an Indian pub/restaurant that was dog friendly with parking this ticked the boxes. We had reserved table for 7 but the sitting wasn’t really planned well with sort of a stool for 7th person, too cramped but was soon adjusted upon mentioning of it. The cocktails were non existent, beer was on the tap. Papadums could be introduced on the house with the chutneys. We ordered quite a few starters and they all were good. Where it fell short was the main course the quantity was not doing justice to the price tag. Taste was decent little too saucy for the gravy. Karaoke is a good…

Booked the Karoga here for a birthday celebration and It was brilliant. We opted to make it ourselves but had plenty of support from the team at the Black Horse who kept our drinks full. Also lots of great live music there on a Friday night.
