About Bulls Head
Village pub, once said to have been visited by Dick Turpin, with a British menu and large garden.
The Bull's Head is very much a community pub, located in the heart of Pratts Bottom and opposite the large village green.
The pub reopened in February 2020 following a closure for major refurbishment, and amongst other changes, the pub now opens at noon from Monday to Thursday, instead of 3pm. Outside, The Bull’s Head has been given a complete facelift, repainted in a deep redcurrant with new lighting and signage. In the garden, the south-facing decked terrace has been extended providing seating for 60. The interior has also been refreshed with additional seating provided.
The pub, which is popular with dog-walkers, has a large enclosed garden.
The food range has been increased, with a mainly up-market menu available, making extensive use of fresh locally-sourced ingredients.
Visitors should note that although the R5/R10 London bus route from Orpington station is convenient for the pub, the route is infrequent and doesn't run at all on Sundays.

We arrived as two on a long local walk. Inside this pub is like a Tardis, absolutely huge. And the rear garden is huge as well with plenty of seating. There's a decent selection of ales including one of my favourites Doombar. The menu offers a good selection including smaller bites and sandwiches. The facilities are very clean and modern, with the pub itself offering a hard wooden floor maintaining that lovely cosy traditional feel. We did have to wait a long time for our meals, however it was definitely worth it. Our plates were nicely presented, with notable above average quality in terms…

The staff was friendly, and we got served right away. The food took a while to come because of a big table before us, and they then took a bit of time to take our desert order. But the ice cream was lovely. It was fine.

I had a lovely meal in there for my Birthday. The food was delicious. They accommodated us a table of 10 so I could celebrate with my family. Food was very nice and staff friendly and helpful. The only thing I was disappointed with, we preordered our meals and wanted prawn cocktail. And when we arrived they informed us they had run out. They offered us king prawns as an alternative which I thought it would still come as a prawn cocktail but it didn't.

I would give a 0 if I could. Luckily my allergy is not life threatening but I stated many times I had a dairy allergy and to was not allowed any milk products. The waitress checked with the chef if the fish and chips were dairy free and she came back and said yes. When my order came I could see the peas were covered in a product that looked like butter- my husband tried them and confirmed his opinion that they tasted of diary butter!! We told the waiter and he said ‘oh yes they are in butter’ to which I was shocked and said ‘I have a milk allergy’ he took my meal back to the chef and bought…

Lovely pub, offering fantastic Sunday roasts! The lamb was beautifully cooked to perfection, with a very impressive giant yorkie!! The lovely, friendly staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, with latecomers, additional members of the group and also when dealing with a minor issue with the fish. Kids were well catered for too, from the menu, through to the collection of toys, games and books. I'm really looking forward to visiting again!
