About Chelsea Potter
Corner pub on famous street with oak furniture and outdoor tables for trendy people-watching.
Built as a beer house in 1843 and enlarged in the 1890s, this pub was called the Commercial Tavern until 1956 when it was renamed after William de Morgan, founder of the nearby Chelsea Pottery. Note the attractive canted bay window and the glazing bar divided windows along the Radnor Walk frontage, adorned with hanging baskets, where the outside tables are available.
Inside, now a comfortable one bar pub, its high ceiling supported on slender scroll-topped columns, is furnished with a mixture of high and low tables, chairs and stools. A bare boarded floor, plenty of carved wood and a variety of mirrors add to the atmosphere. A pub-grub menu is offered. Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones are reputed to have once been customers; now it attracts a passing trade as well as the local regulars. Two regular ales from the GK stable are normally on offer, with a third handpump often used for cider.

Had a delightful experience at Chelsea Potter. The food was classic pub fare, but with a touch of extra care that made every bite delicious. Loved the buzzing atmosphere, especially with the live sports on. Perfect for a casual night out in Chelsea. And the fact that they’re dog-friendly is a huge bonus! 🐾 Shout out to Laura who delivered amazing service, she was super welcoming and made sure we felt comfortable

🌟 **Fantastic Local Pub with a Cozy Atmosphere!** I recently visited the Chelsea Potter, and it quickly became my go-to spot in the area. The beer garden is perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon, and the selection of cask ales is top-notch. The staff are super friendly and Laura made us feel very at home! Perfect place to unwind after a long day. Highly recommended!

*DO NOT EAT HERE* Took an hour to receive 3 sandwiches. My side of chips was a miserable portion and the chips were stone cold and thrown on the plate. Clearly had been left sitting for a long time. We informed the staff we had been waiting a long time for food but the response was, ‘it takes some time. We are busy’ despite there only being about 4 tables of people eating food. We then complained that the chips were cold and were given no apology. The manager was even rude enough to leave us standing mid-conversation to serve another customer. The waiter was clueless and the manager was even…

Several different servers were at the bar. Each one attentive and quick in response. Only had an appetizer here with guineas and an ale. Crispy squid was really good with chili sauce
