About Duke of Cambridge

A short walk from Twickenham Stadium, 4 sports screens, large outdoor covered terrace and real ales.

The Duke of Cambridge, originally known as Emma Cottage, first opened its doors as a beer house in 1857. A Mr Stephen Woodlands of the Phoenix Brewery, Orleans Road, Twickenham, took a lease on the building to carry on the trade of "beer seller and licensed victualler". Emma Cottage is first recorded as the Duke of Cambridge in 1861, and takes its name from Queen Victoria's cousin who established the School of Military Music at Kneller Hall situated opposite the pub. Today the site is little altered. The Duke of Cambridge has become THE place for many rugby fans to meet. Located only 8 minutes away from Twickenham Stadium, and the Stoop, home of the Harlequins Rugby Club. Regular live music events take place.

Absolute belter of a gaff, I was here a few weeks ago to watch the women's rugby. As a bunch of non-locals we were surprised to be greeted with such warmth, the pool area attached to the side of the building allows smoking and has a huge television and a well-kept pool table. Would move to Twickenham from Sheffield just for this pub!

Always go here pre rugby. Rather pay pub prices than in the ground well that's turned on it's heels. last time for me. No problem with a price hike on match days. But £8.50 for Guinness and £8 for beer. Your pub your prices . Good luck.

Came here tonight (Tuesday) staying at a nearby Airbnb. Had a few pints of London Pride. Absolutely shattered after a long work day. The staff gave out tasty nibbles towards the end of the night and the locals were friendly. Definitely will be back next time I stay round here.

We meat every year for the Army V Navy game. It's a great place with a fantastic atmosphere. The staff are brilliant and able to live, or should I say, forgive our behaviour. Thanks for the good time.

Best pub ever! Lynn and Carla are so friendly. Brill pool table, good screens outside. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area
