About Fairmile
Sunday roast and pub meals served in rustic 17th-century coaching inn with garden and valley views.
Originally a large mansion, latterly a hotel and since 1994 a bar, restaurant and hotel complex. The building is set in extensive grounds, with a large lawn leading to the main road. Decorated in a modern style, it is pleasant enough for drinkers with plenty of comfortable seating. There is a small children’s play area within the grounds and accommodation is available in the Premier Inn next door. A golf driving range is also on site and meeting/function rooms are available. A wide range of food is available all day. Dick Turpin is supposed to have called here and a few ghosts have been seen. Changing beer is mainly from Greene King.

No hot beverage facilities and the staff member explained this was due to boiler issues. But strange that they didn't even have a kettle for tea/coffee. We went in the morning had breakfast which was dry. Bacon eggs all very dry. Avocado toast and poached eggs not tasty/fresh.

This is a really nice venue. I first came here for a small organised car meet out on the green back in 2016, this time though (2023)I actually had food and drink inside. A decent menu, not too fussy but should cater for most I’d imagine with a good variety on offer. I had a steak and ale pie with chips and gravy, it should come with greens but I deleted those. I probably wouldn’t chose it again but it was ok. I’d go for something else next time, as others looked nice. Good attentive staff, and well done out inside.

Great pub, great food and great service! Had a lovely meal on bank holiday Monday. Really lovely decor inside which created a relaxed atmosphere. We used Tesco vouchers to pay for the food which made it all the better! 😁 Was our first visit and certainly won't be the last, look forward to next time.

Food and service for an evening meal good. Service was quick and friendly and food well prepared and tasty. The only complaint was that the pub has tatty decor, peeling wallpaper, paint, cracked windows and mucky radiators, which is off putting. Do you not have some sort of regular maintenance just to keep the place a bit more presentable ?
