About Foley

Extended and fully remodelled during 2012 and refurbished in 2024, the emphasis is now on food, but there is still a good sized lounge bar area where the public bar used to be, which retains a good atmosphere. Contemporary decor throughout with farmhouse kitchen type furniture and mainly bare wood flooring. The dining area towards the rear leads out to a partly covered patio area with a garden beyond. Breakfasts served 8am to 11.30am. Changing beer is usually from a local brewer.

What a brilliant experience at the Foley for our first roast meal . The service was faultless. The only slight downside was that the food wasn’t as hot as we would’ve liked. I should’ve sent it back to be reheated. Also it would be a good idea to supply stuffing with your chicken /pork roasts. We will definitely be back!

Well looked after at the foley.. had a late lunch (8 of us) and the service was superb,, we had a lovely fella called sean serving us from behind the bar and kept our glasses full .. turned out it was his birthday the next day .. food was excellent , all 8 of us had lovely food without without ANY complaints.. Sean put all the drinks and food on the hotel room without any problems.. rooms were very generous in size all all 4 parties said what fantastic rooms they had and ridiculously reasonably priced.. would I go again ?? 100%

I recently had another fantastic stay at The Foley and it was outstanding from start to finish. I was warmly greeted by Richard when checking in who was very polite, helpful and friendly. My room was spotlessly clean and spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I had breakfast whilst there, which was delicious, and the young lady who served me could not have been more helpful. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I highly recommend The Foley to anyone looking to stay in Claygate. Thank you for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable, I will be back!

Where else can I start besides, PERFECT! Rooms were immaculate, had all the amenities needed and more. Including a fridge and mini bar 🥂 Had accessible windows so had some lovely morning air, and a coffee machine ☕️ Not to mention the bed that was the best thing I ever slept on!! Such high quality bedding and cushions, and the pillows were perfect. Wish I could sleep here all day!! 😅 Dinner was fabulous! Beautifully presented and was absolutely mouth watering, as-well as the selection of wines and drinks. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and we felt right at home for the whole trip…

Food was cold. Ordered a steak; its was freezing cold. The peas for one of dishes we ordered were also ice cold. The mussels tasted sandy. Was very disappointed as I had a Sunday Roast dinner last year at The Foley and it was excellent but dinner on Friday night was not good at all. Not sure if they have changed chefs or what the story is but the food wasn't a good experience. Wont be going to back there for food unfortunately.
