About George
Lively chain venue with typical English decor, a menu of pub classics and regular promotions.
A former Yate's high street shop conversion at the bottom of Station Road. Converted from Woolworth's in 1997. Renamed the Harrow in December 2014 following a refurbishment and again in November 2019 as the George. This also saw the loss of the upstairs seating area and most of the pool tables. The are countless TV screens including four in booths.

Found a cozy corner with my family on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good. The Fish and chips were not available unfortunately. The chicken tikka and chicken fillet sub were good. The salad with sothern fried chicken was okay, and quite fresh and sweet.

Visited on a Monday morning for brunch. Place was almost empty but clean. Atmosphere is a blend of old/modern. Gives the impression of being an old pub + sports bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. No parking in the street as it's a busy road but you can find parking nearby. Food was good, we had English breakfast. One negative side of it: no black pudding, which should be part of it by tradition. Would visit again.

Enjoyed our visit here. The mixed grill was top notch, apart from the peas. Not knocking the pub for that, but why? There must be a secret society of garden pea lovers, and we are most definitely not paid-up members! At the time of visiting, it has Doom Bar, London Pride and Tribute on tap, as well as the usual lagers. Would visit again.

Without doubt the best Pub in this post code. Camra discounts, great ales super friendly staff. Nice n large no rowdy crowds. What's not to like 😄 Addition on Oct 28 2023! Today was a huge disappointment . There were no Ales in the cask except a poor useless 3.4% IPA so so upsetting. It ought not to call itself and English Pub , 🙃🙃🙃

Pop in there, as I was working in the area, Staff were very friendly, food was very nice and reasonably priced. Pub was very clean, will definitely come back to try the drink one night.
