About Golden Ark
Conveniently situated in the centre of Selsdon, this micropub continues to grow in popularity since it opened in January 2019. The light interior is enhanced by an attractive bar and tables in natural wood, with further wood decoration on the walls. There is a choice of seating types. A rotating selection of ales from local and nationwide microbreweries is available through four handpumps, with a further selection of ales and ciders on KeyKeg and keg, and in a large range of bottles and cans (also available as off-sales). There is a selection of gins and a whiskies, with some rare bottles. An extensive range of bar snacks is available. Quiz night is Wednesday (booking required). There is occasional live music, karaoke and art shows by local artists. The 'Ark-toberfest' beer festival is now a regular feature.

Little oasis of good beer in a rather ordinary high street. It does feel slightly more aimed at Camra folk than modern IPA drinkers, however there was a really nice session IPA from Time & Tide on...so I was happy. Decor is very homemade! Friendly welcome too. Will no doubt be back next time I go for a long walk.

I celebrated my birthday here yesterday and everything was just brilliant. Maria the owner was top class, friendly, efficient and made things happen. The food was delicious, the drinks very reasonably priced and extensive, the ambience very welcoming and service over and above. Thank you to Maria and her bar staff.

A bijou intimate space of lively conversation and red noses! These people really love their beer! Helpful friendly staff who truly care that you find the right beer for you. We tasted several before finding our personal favourites. Definitely more men than women here and, it seems, always a friendly local willing / desperate to chat, especially to female visitors. Newcomers attract attention, but in a welcoming way. Some might find it a little intrusive, possibly. If you were traumatised by affable drunk uncles you may find it a little triggering. But if you can handle, and enjoy affable…

I have used this bar several times now, and have always found it very friendly, on top of that, the beer is exceptionally good. On my last visit l was drinking the most amazing stout! I would highly recommend this bar for any beer lovers out there.
