About Hoop & Toy
Traditional on the outside, this Victorian pub has feature brick walls and modern furniture inside.
Handy for the National History and Victoria & Albert museums. Probably the oldest established tavern in Kensington c1515 as the Grapes, later as the Hoop & Grapes. The present name dates from 1784. The est. c1760 on the pub front is contradicted by the Kensington licensing records. Though rebuilt in 1844, the front was again rebuilt in red brick in 1927.

We really enjoyed Hoop & Toy’s casual atmosphere and great selection of beer and food. I grabbed the vegan burger and a cider and we chatted at one of the tables until deciding to hop over to a different location. Great little spot for a bite and brew.

A nice victorian Pub with plenty of drinks and food. The best food to order is certainly the fish and chips. It's served with big chips, peas and tartare sauce The BLT sandwich and the burger are nice too but could be improved. The decoration is a nice idea. Nice place to eat and drink something!

I found this pub while I was waiting for some training to start and it was perfect for lunch. As a woman eating on her own I was worried I would stand out and I'd feel judged and embarrassed. However, I was greeted by a really friendly gentleman who found me a table quickly and I was even able to charge my phone. I had 3 vegetarian dishes from the tapas menu and particularly enjoyed the houmous and pitta! The only thing I wasn't keen on was the lack of music.

OK so lovely pub to look at and inside, service was awful, 2 attempts to get the correct food served, barstaff sighed and rolled eyes every time I asked them to correct a mistake. No kids food option other than cheap pasta in tomato sauce, which was literally tomato sauce from a bottle squirted over. Food was over priced and awful £9.45 for an overcook, tiny, steak sandwich and Salad. I know it's London, but still

The food was very good, didn't really like the sauce dressing on the salad but it was my fault for not realizing that or telling them, part from that the food was proper cooked, And good service food wasn't too slow which was good. 😊😊😊
