About Kings Arms

Parts of this pub are said to be 15th century and form one of the wings when it was rebuilt in the 17th century. It is a heavily beamed hostelry which was once a Benskins House and later Ind Coope. Although there is only one bar, there are many discrete areas in which to lose oneself.

We hired the back bit of the garden for a Confirmation Party. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. Moreover, due to the unpredictable weather, they were very flexible where the party should take place- inside or outside. I would definitely recommend this venue for any occasion, come rain or shine and especially those with young children as they have a fantastically large garden with swings and a slide and even room for a game of football. Thank you to the Kings Arms for helping making our day so special!

We hired the back area of the garden for my friends baby shower. The team were great, they set up some barriers so we had our own private section. We were allowed to decorate the area, bring our own food and they provided a Bluetooth speaker with great sound. Drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good variety including non alcoholic gins and ciders. The play area was perfect for the children to play where we could keep an eye on them.

Was ok seemed the drinks were not that cheap as we had 50% food deal that government introduced. Yet still cost us quite a bit including the drinks. Other than this very nice and tidy.

Visited on a quiet afternoon. Large interior with several rooms in traditional style. Very pleasant service and a nice place for a pint. Please to see Timothy Taylors Boltmaker on handpump - and it was good. Garden at back too. Recommended

An Authentic English Pub! This is a real English pub! With more than 300 years of history it has many stories to tell. Highway men drank at this pub. WWI wounded Aussies at the local hospital drank at this pub. Royalty visited this pub. It has real history! Low ceilings. Cosy sitting areas. Well stocked bar. Sunday lunch was excellent! Real pub food! Roast lamb and veg was as good as it gets. But what makes this pub stand out is the people. Wonderful serving staff. Bar manager was attentive, calm, talking effortlessly to every guest. Every one there was a local. Elderly people in their 80’s…
