About Masons Arms

Cosy pub with games, a wood-burning stove, garden and an extensive range of independent ales/ciders.

Small back-street community free house built in 1860 and retaining many period features. The decorations and paraphernalia adorning the walls leave you in no doubt that the publican is a beer-enthusiast. Worth noticing are the four bespoke turned wooden handles on the hand-pumps and the unusual painted pub sign. There is a log-burning stove, dart board and a small secluded rear patio. Carpeting and comfortable seating create a cosy atmosphere. Occasional Quiz and music nights take place. The guest beer comes from a wide range of independent brewers across the UK and changes frequently. Sunday Cheeseboard and cheese or ham rolls available. The digital jukebox-box complements the convivial atmosphere on many evenings. The web site is kept up to date with what is being served and up-coming, together with pump-clip images and tasting notes. CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year for 2023 and runner-up for the Greater London Regional Pub of the Year 2017/18.

Please note that children and dogs are only allowed in the garden.

How pubs should be. Came in for the first time with some friends, certainly won’t be the last. Excellent beer selection, of which I had lovely pint of Summer Lightning. Landlady very friendly, great atmosphere and an endless amount of pub paraphernalia to view. Can’t wait to return.

A fantastic little pub with a great selection of beers and ales. Lots of quirky memorabilia and historic adverts all around the pub, a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Beer was reasonably priced for a suburb of London. A proper, unpretentious pub!

An absolutely lovely pub! A bit a mission to get to, but utterly worth it. Beautiful decor, an excellent beer garden, and a diverse range of beers - only two lagers on draught, but very good ones. Lovely friendly staff too - and plainly a pub that has a range of regulars!

Cannot think of a better pub over this side of London. Probably the cheapest around(barring wetherspoons) with a good selection of real ales, cider and perry. A locals pub but very welcoming to everyone. Rae and the bar staff always have time to have a chat but still you never have to wait long to be served. Also if you love your music you'll love the jukebox.

OUTSTANDING! It was a trip down memory lane. How typical English pubs used to be before we were diverted down the unedifying cul-de-sac of so called 'bistro' establishments, with over-overpriced food and no atmosphere. The Masons is a living museum of wonderful days gone by when pubs were all about good beer, cheap food and great conversation. It was also the pub of the year 2023. I really enjoyed it. They serve cheese and pickle rolls. Brilliant 😁
