About Old Ship Inn
Victorian pub with a traditional British menu below a boutique hotel that has bright & chic guestrooms.
Close to the Hackney Empire and accessible via a small corridor from Mare Street as well as a frontage on Sylvester path. Refurbished as a more upmarket pub in early 2014 when the lease was taken on by Urban Pubs & Bars, the former owners of Real Pubs; 4 hand-pumps dispense ales primarily from local breweries such as Hapenny and Trumans and the food uses locally sourced ingredients

I booked a one night stay when coming to Hackney to see a gig. What a lovely find this place is, down a quiet, leafy back street. My room on the second floor was great, very clean with complimentary tea, coffee, water and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and it was just perfect for me. Sadly I didn’t get time to sample the food and drinks in the pub but the staff I did see meet were really pleasant. I’ll definitely return here again, hopefully for more than one night .

We stayed for a one night city break and the Old Ship was the ideal choice. The room was compact and comfortable, the check-in/check-out process made seamless by helpful and friendly staff and the location was ideal. It was easy to come and go throughout our stay. Our room on the second floor was a little toasty, but it was also one of the rare warm days this year. It was a good pick for our needs - with a budget but not so budget we were prepared to share a dorm or a bathroom. Really recommend!

Came here for drinks and some food before a concert at the Oslo. The place is comfy and the food is really good. We ate the smash burger which was delicious and a perfect portion size. The staff are friendly and I shall return!

I've been to this pub before but never noticed the back terrace - there is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, definitely worth checking out. Sunday roast was amazing !!! The potatoes were slightly overcooked for my taste but everything else was delicious, with a special mention to the gravy. One small issue was that the plates could have been cleared faster, as we were approached by someone asking for leftovers. However, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend this place!

I booked a 4 night stay in the hotel and I have to give it an absolute recommendation to stay at. Staff were very professional and friendly: I arrived in the morning (10) and asked if I could leave my luggage and they checked me in and said I can leave my bag and they will put it in my room once it is cleaned, room should be available 2-3pm (official check in time). I came back around 2pm and room was ready and luggage in. Hackney in general is a beautiful area to stay and is actually a good walking distance from the city center (I walked to Camden/Canary Wharf/ Soho/Kensington etc) but of…
