The pub's website says it will reopen in late spring, but it's already mid-summer; perhaps they are behind schedule.
On the cusp between a drinkers' pub and a gastro, it is, if anything, striving for the latter with an upstairs restaurant, tapas and more standard menus, and extensive wine list, and a snack list which seems to be reaching for the more upmarket end, albeit not especially expensive. Popular lunchtimes and early evening. Per the Wadsworth Dictionary of Pub Names the sister of Henry VIII, widow of Louis XII of France, was passionately fond of artichokes (it is said). She persuaded her chief gardener to call his tavern by this name. That tavern has gone but the name survives here. See the pub's website for more history.

Had our Sunday roast at this restaurant that opens at 12pm on a Sunday. Nice cozy restaurant and the food selection was good. Overall suitable for a group of people.

The Queen's Head and Artichoke is a delightful pub nestled away on the corner of Longford and Albany streets. The pub looks like a late Victorian pub, it offers a tapas menu, enticing for a longer visit. Dog friendly and a very happy go lucky atmosphere. The service is excellent and the beer is great too. Indeed, a fine offering of keg beers along with a couple of cask ales. A fine place indeed.

Lovely place with a great food and a very nice atmosphere - a true hidden gem in central London! My favourite dishes were the octopus, pumpkin, flatbread, pardon peppers, croquettes and the desserts (crumble and the citrus cake) - which is most of what we've ordered! Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu!

I was in the area and needed somewhere to eat. I walked in here and it was very quiet (14:30 on a Saturday). The staff were very attentive though and welcomed me in. Good selection of food on the menu, and what I ordered came quickly and was tasty. It get get busier a bit later, by the time I'd left.
