About Royal Oak
Relaxed Victorian pub offering classic food & drink, including a popular Sunday roast & quiz night.
25/03/24 - pub has reopened. Now Craft Union - a part of Stonegate. One cask beer visible through window.
Pub announced that it is to close on 05/11/23 see here
03/09/22 - no cask ale on sale. "Currently no real ale due to hot spell of weather. Cask beer may return when it's cooler."
Rebuilt in Elizabethan Revival style between 1891-3 this imposing pub is Locally Listed by Brent Council and has a mixed clientèle. It has a bar in front of an open kitchen and various entrances which indicate how, at one time, it would have been divided into several rooms.
The Park Parade side entrance includes some impressive tiling including a tiled painting of a Parliamentarian trooper hunting for King Charles II after the Battle of Worcester in 1651 with Charles hiding in an oak tree. In Jan 2016 Urban Pubs & Bars leased the pub investing £300k adding a feature staircase (which leads to a hugely impressive upstairs room and bar) and the open kitchen.

🚇 Willesden Junction 🍺 £5.50 Cruzcampo The Royal Oak is located on a busy crossroads on bustling Harlesden High Street in NW10. The nearest station is Willesden Junction, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This imposing four-storey building was built in 1861 and was remodelled in an Elizabethan Revival style in 1891. The pub closed suddenly at the beginning of the year, thankfully it reopened in March after a thoughtful refurbishment. The pub is now run by @craftunionpubs . This is a big old Victorian boozer that is set out over two floors. The main bar on the ground floor is ‘U’…

Stayed 18/04/2024 to 20/04/2024 My advice is do not go there. On arrival we were informed that the kitchen had been removed so there was no facility to have breakfast or any other meal which they do not say in their advertising or by any other format. It is run down both in the bar area and in the bedrooms. There is no area to lounge in. Only one member of staff that we saw. I have to admit that the bedding was very clean but in no way does that make up for the rest of the establishment. We have complained to the owners but they have not even bothered to reply to us at the time of writing. We…

Came on a Sunday to watch an exciting football live match. They have screens here at a few corners and the atmosphere is great. We had a Sunday Roast (had everything! From scotch egg to nice potatoes to meat really a bit of everything) And also seabream fish with broccoli. Quite delicious and the sauce was nicely mixed. To top we also had a Gin & Tonic. They have many types here. Anyways worth coming! One of the best pubs in the area hands down.

First time visiting and it was fairly pleasant inside. Nice ambiance and decor. We had relatively good service. When our food arrived one person’s food was missing and we were just brought over the paper receipt saying we didn’t order it rather than being apologetic. Once reordered it arrived swiftly. I went for the veggie roast which was nice although the roast potatoes were a little dry. On the dessert the sticky toffee pudding didn’t seem fresh but ice cream and caramel sauce was nice. When it came to the bill the item they missed at the beginning was on the bill twice!!

Lovely old pub with a cute little beer garden. Booked a Sunday roast and it was delicious. Top marks to our waitress Ines too who was charming and attentive and took time to check with the chef over unusual allergens. Couldn't ask for more.
