About Ship

More than 260 years old, this Grade II-listed split-level pub has extensive dark wood panelling, timber beams and huge fireplaces. The building is largely unchanged and has low ceilings in places - so duck or grouse! It is a family-run business with home-cooked food. Quiz nights are held on Thursday and live music is hosted on Saturday.

Wow what an amazing local pub! Plenty of seating both inside and out with two outside seating areas. A lovely old fashioned pub feel inside with plenty of choices for drinks and the food is very well cooked. 10/10

Met up with friends and we all felt comfortable, a lovely friendly atmosphere. The food looked great but we were book into another restaurant .

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Ship in Gidea Park, and I can't recommend it highly enough! We visited on a Sunday and were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our experience. The food was absolutely fantastic. We only had mains, but they were delicious and perfectly prepared. It's clear that the chefs take great pride in their work, as every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was equally outstanding. A special shoutout to Sarah, who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was enjoyable. She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly patient…

Leaving a 1 star review purely because a member of the team was overheard on more than one occasion insinuating that the atmosphere changed when myself and some friends walked in. It's a shame because I actually had a good time in the pub, the DJ and the karaoke singer outside were really good (apologies as I don't know their names) but the atmosphere was really good. But unfortunately because of this comment from a member of the team, which is clearly racist I'm leaving a one star review in the hopes that this woman is spoken to.
