About Three Greyhounds

Traditional dark wood pub on the ground floor of a mock Tudor building, with cask ales and bar food.

Popular M&B Nicholson's pub, just off Shaftesbury Avenue and full of tourists and wanderers through Soho, first licensed as a beer house in 1846, with weatherboarding added in 1925. The name derives from the dogs once used to course hares in the area.

Three permanent ales are on offer and guest beers have included unusual ones such as Cropton Elf Indulgence and Box Steam Tunnel Vision. The pub makes a comfortable break from the Soho streets, but can frequently become rather crowded in this very central location.

Food options include takeaway and delivery as well as eating in the pub.

🚇 Leicester Square 🍺 £7.30 Paulaner A Small but Perfectly Formed Soho Favourite. The Three Greyhounds is located in the south east corner of Soho close to Cambridge Circus. The nearest Tube is Leicester Square, it’s a four minute walk to get here. This pub dates back to 1847, The Three Greyhounds is named after the dogs who once hunted hares here when Soho was open ground. The mock Tudor exterior and leaded windows make this an eye catching boozer that stands out from the surrounding buildings. This is a cosy one bar pub that has a ‘ye olde’ pub feel. The bar area is wedged shaped with…

We stopped at this small pub at the corner of Greek Street and Old Compton Street. Nice vibe and music. A large selection of draft beer. Unlike few place I have been to, all options were available. Staff were friendly. The beer we ordered was fresh. We have not ordered food, however, a table near were having food and seemed to enjoy it. My rating on the food is based on their reactions. Easy going and lovely playlist.

Stopped in here just to get a few drinks, but couldn't resist the food. The portions were far larger than I expected for the prices. Such a good selection of gins and whiskeys. And the gentlemen running the place was great. I tried the brisket loaded fries, and shared some of the brauts and mash. Couldn't argue with the quality.
