About Tudor Rose

Classic old tavern with a contemporary interior and a menu of seasonal Modern European dishes.

Previously a Harvester and an Ember Inn, no longer branded but still run by M&B as a dining-oriented pub. Substantial mock-Tudor pub, with tall twisted chimneys, gables, timber framing and a spacious interior, refurbished in early 2023. There is a front-facing bar, with dining area to the left and a lounge area to right. Subdued grey/beige decor, with seating in various shades of brown fabric and leather upholstery. The outdoor drinking area includes a lawn, patio and smokers' shelter.

We went to have Sunday roast so we ordered drinks and roast dishes for 4 of us. The food was delicious but the waitress kept asking us what if we wanted to order more drinks or desserts but we didn’t want to. I feel that it’s a bit rude if you want to turn the table for other customers by keep asking what if we want to order more food or what if we want to pay bill 😤

Ok…disclaimer: I’ve been here 4 x times in 2024 and recently 03/01/25. The first couple of times I went here it was actually okay and I even went as far as to organise our office team lunch here as well and no complaints however, the last two times I’ve been here it has really gone downhill and the last time we went was an absolute joke. The batter on the fish was strange and tasted vile. I think they’re struggling with staff here hence why food was late and just plain…off par. For what you pay I think the quality should be far higher. Plenty of parking and good wheelchair access here.

Had Janey and Scarlett wait on us over the course of the evening! Really great service and really enjoyed the meal. Good food and a great atmosphere!

This was my second visit, and once again, it exceeded my expectations! The three-course meal was absolutely delicious and offered excellent value for money. The service was outstanding, with staff making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Although Tudor Rose was extremely busy, staff were still friendly and great. The food quality (look and taste) was also fantastic. Please do let the chef know. To have a busy service and still produce quality is commendable.
