About Windmill
Quirky pub serving numerous varieties of pie, with 2 pie rooms and a pie club plus real ales.
The creation of this pub in the 1980s from two adjoining buildings, formerly occupied by a nightclub and an escort agency, has produced a spacious 'L'-shaped bar with painted wood panelling, some plain but intensely coloured wall tiling, wooden floors, decorative ceilings and an attractive frieze all dominated by a large chandelier. Whilst there is some room in front of the bar for vertical drinking, much of the place is occupied by comfortable dining tables and chairs.
To the rear and a few steps down is one of two Pie Rooms - the other is on the first floor and appears to still have its original wooden flooring and unpainted panelling - where all tables are exclusively for diners. Pies are, as you might imagine, very much the speciality, with changing monthly specials such as beef & stilton, but the food menu also includes Sunday roasts. There is also a roof terrace with about eight tables with shelter and blankets provided. The pub operator also runs the nearby Guinea Grill and there is kitchen collaboration between the two venues.
Please note that no under-16s are allowed on the premises.

Nice pub in the heart of the city, Famous for their pie 🥧 I took the steak and Stilton pie it’s was nice but maybe just for my taste not so good maybe the mushroom can be better? but all my friends were happy with their pie they said was really good The dessert nothing special we could have avoided them The service tho is nice and friendly It was really busy on a Friday night if you want to eat you need to book and I find it a bit expensive 25£ for a pie but I understand they are famous for that and they are in the city centre Anyway you can try and give it a go ! I don’t think you gonna be…

The food, the staff and the vibe were all perfect. We brought our 15 month old here and had a great time. The pies were incredible as well as the fish and chips. Thank you Danny and Zoe for an awesome experience.

Not sure what to say, it was just all perfect! Great atmosphere, good selection of beers, fantastic food. Thanks to Ana Maria for the impeccable service! EDIT: it was so good that we decided to go back 2 days after to try some other plates, we were not disappointed!

I went to this pub with a friend who had never tried British pub food and wanted to impress him. I must say I completely achieved my goal! The food was outstanding,we tried their famous pies and did not regret it. The service we received from Danny was kind and professional and he gave us great recommendations.

They say it’s one of the best places in London to have the pies. Perfect place to bring friends who came to visit London. The pies are very delicious and the choice is rather big so you could find the one you like. Polite and kind service. The place itself is very good as well: good location, everything is clean and the atmosphere is great(especially if there’s a football match(obviously)). Highly recommend to visit this place and try their pies. (Pardon me for such a variety of media, but hey on one of them you can see how you are supposed to eat the pie. ;) )
