About Woolpack

Quirky bar with ornate tiling and ceiling, offering a classic pub menu, cocktails and a beer garden.

Built mid-19th century. Ex-Allied then Punch Taverns. Had a spell from 2000 to 2006 as the Scottish-themed London Scotia Bar. Now very successful. Blue stucco building, L-shaped interior, fancy fully tiled wall down the long left-hand side, a nice wood screen on the short right-hand wall which used to be a corridor, spiral staircase leads to another room upstairs. Very popular, all tables taken with some having to stand even midweek. Short, better than average pub standard menu. Nice, surprisingly spacious walled rear patio.

Bermondsey’s Best-Kept Secret The Wool Pack in Bermondsey is everything you want in a great pub. From the warm, friendly vibe to the perfectly poured pints, it’s a place that feels like home the moment you walk in. Their drinks menu is spot-on, with a great mix of craft beers, wines, and cocktails, while the food is nothing short of delicious. Whether it’s a classic pub dish or their unbeatable Sunday roast, every bite hits the mark. Also Alex was just awesome! Made us all (including our dogs) feel welcome! Don’t miss the gorgeous beer garden—it’s perfect for sunny afternoons or cozy…

It's a great pub to go to after work for drinks. The ground floor near the bar is buzzing with young adults chatting and laughing, and there is a lot of noise, so one can't hear and talk if you are a large group or with family. The upper floor is quiet, with middle-aged people sitting and enjoying their drinks.

Today we’ve been to The Woolpack, I tried several dishes, but unfortunately, none stood out or justified the price tag. I ordered the fried squid, which turned out to be quite oily. It was served with mayonnaise, a pairing that didn't enhance the dish. Some lemon or maybe even more chili sauce could have brought much-needed brightness to the flavors. We also tried the bruschetta with mozzarella. It was just okay—nothing memorable or exciting. Additionally, we had some prawns, which, like the rest of the meal, were pretty average. For the price we paid, I expected more. In conclusion…

Our team had a fantastic time enjoying drinks together after the annual dinner. The spot had a spacious backyard perfect for parties, though it was super crowded when we arrived. Some memories are worth revisiting and reflecting on

The food AND service was SO good. We got the burgers and they were juicy and very well seasoned, and it was the best coleslaw I’ve ever had! We got served immediately and got checked up on during and after eating. (which I find rare in the UK) I highly recommend coming here for a bite!
