We went to the Bald Faced Stag with some friends for a spontaneous chill evening with some nice drinks and food. Being located at a major road it's quick to get to and quite easily accessible. Also given it's on a busy road, the outside area is fairly calm and invites for a nice cool drink on a warm evening! The bar staff war very nice, greeted us warmly and was quick to advise and serve. We also had some food from the daily menus. It's definitely on the pricier side - paying about £20 for a pie is quite expensive! I've had the meat and bone marrow pie which was delicious! Went with a couple mates for pub quiz, good selection of cider and fish + chips were nice but the chips could’ve been cooked to perfection and more fluffy in the inside.

Excellent pint of Landlord served quickly and with my CAmRA discount represented great value. The thousand layer potatoes were also an indulgent bar snack. Thanks to Yann and Nick for the great service.

I've left a review before and have always liked the bald face stag but rewriting one as we went on Monday evening and the food was GORGEOUS! We ordered loads of starters and bar snacks for 4 of us and every plate was scrapped clean. The mushroom crumpet, thousand layer potatoes and chicken pate profiteroles make up for the fact they've taken the buffalo wings off the menu. Very impressed 👏

I have gone for dinner to the Bald Faced Stag for years and always come back. It’s maintained an excellent standard for good food with a changing, adventurous and delicious menu. Staff are always very friendly - we have never had a bad experience. A bonus on our last visit: live guitar and singing
