About Village Green
Rustic-chic pub with draught beers & classic fare like burgers, plus TV sports & a big roof terrace.
Fifties pub initially named after the famous television pioneer - John Baird; the first broadcasts were made from nearby Alexandra Palace. A stack of old TV sets recognises this but in 2020 the pub has been operarted by Laines who changed the name to Village Green in homage to more recent local celebrities - The Kinks.
Recently Pride and Boltmaker have been the regulars confirmed by the pub. In addition there are 8 keg lines from Laines and guests.
The decor might be described as unusual with tin baths hanging from the ceiling! You enter into a large bar space with seating heading off to both sides - to the left-hand sides it in effect enters a separate space which is used for events. Both sides lead to the very large garden which has booths and an upper area.

Came for a roast with my partner, not usually one for picking vegan stuff but I figured I’d give it a chance since the person sat a couple tables away had it and it looked interesting. Honestly, one of the best roasts I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be coming back on sunday.

We’ve visited the Village Green a few times and generally had good experiences, which is why I haven’t rated it lower. However, on this occasion, there were several disappointing issues. We ordered a G&T with a specific gin, but were informed they’d run out. A staff member said they would try to source more, but they didn’t return. About 20 minutes later, someone brought a drink to the table that was clearly incorrect. When we raised this, the staff argued it was correct. Eventually, the manager intervened, immediately recognised the mistake, and returned with the proper drink. While he…

Nice pub located in Muswell Hill. Came on a bank holiday Monday for a quick drink in the afternoon. I have removed a star because there was no staff... Literally no one to be seen, eventually after 10 minutes someone emerged from the cellar to serve me. However, rest of the pub is great. Great drinks, pints, cocktails. Nice beat garden, very clean too. Maybe hire more staff?... Follow me on Google Maps for more pub reviews

I came here with a friend, it used to be called The John Baird! We had a couple of drinks here, it's now a cool, trendy pub with great outdoor seating and a little upstairs bit to sit down. They had a great selection of beers, the atmosphere was chilled and the service was friendly, definitely come back to this cosy and modern pub! Highly recommend it!
