About Boathouse
Modern 3-floor pub overlooking a riverside wharf, specialising in fish, with Friday lobster menu.
Opened 2004 on newly accessible stretch of the riverside to the east of Putney Bridge and replacing the Castle, demolished the previous year.
The Boathouse occupies three floors in the historic red brick Isherwood Building (once a vinegar brewery), complete with a cupola and clock and with a glass fronted extension overlooking the river.
A vibrant bar/restaurant attracting a young clientele who do not always appreciate the efforts of keen young managers to improve cask beer sales.
Big screens for rugby and cricket.

I was looking forward to having a lovely roast dinner. It was busy but that's no excuse for the poor service. Got our own menu and waited for a while to be served at the bar, even though we were seen, clearing the other tables were more important than taking our order. Food arrived without cutlery and missing items and when pointed out had a shirty response. No condiments at the table and sauces that were meant to come with the roast dinner never arrived even after I asked. Paid a lot of money and felt disappointed. Food tasted OK but my partner found a piece of string with his pork roast…

A far superior option to the neighbouring Wetherspoons on a beautiful Saturday lunchtime by the Thames and a 20 min walk to Craven Cottage. Service was good....but ... They could have done with a couple more bar staff as it was match day, very sunny and therefore so busy. Could do with more river side seating too. (You can book)

As the Boathouse is one of my locals, it’s a place I go to often and, after my first few pints there - I was sold. The staff are some of the friendliest you could meet; always up for a chat (when they have a moment to spare!), extremely helpful and have a keen eye for detail whether it’s getting a good pour on a drink or making sure everything is perfect for your function on the top floor. I don’t eat there too often but whether it’s the roast or the sausage rolls with apple sauce (I cannot recommend these highly enough) it’s always done to perfection. With all said and done, the Boathouse is…

I went for an event at the boathouse Putney fairly recently - was debating writing a review but after discussions with friends we agreed it was for the best. The complete lack of regard for my allergies - which I reminded the waiting staff of multiple times - was absolutely shocking ! Additionally, my vegetarian friends were not well cared for at all. Would not recommend to anyone with any kind of dietary requirement.

I’ve visited The Boathouse on several occasions, and felt the need to stress how great the place is. Service is always first class, with staff all too happy to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. I’ve eaten a couple of times too, and certainly cannot fault the chefs here! Special shoutout to Simon who has worked there for ages and we love him to pieces!! However all staff are exceptional. Also, the music here is also awesome and also helps the terrific atmosphere of the pub. Many thanks to Team Boathouse x
