About Britannia
Contemporary gastropub with wood-panelled walls, leather armchairs and a conservatory dining room.
Originally built as the brewery tap of William Wells Britannia Brewery in 1834 and later licensed as a beer house called the Brewery Tap until 1939. This Young's tied house was extensively refurbished some years ago and is immaculately presented. The interior is modern and stylish, with different seating areas by the bar. There is a 50-seat restaurant at the rear and outside seating along the side of the pub, where smoking is allowed. Another refurbishment in mid-2014 left the interior largely unchanged, with the addition of two function rooms and even squidgier settees. The first-floor bar is accessed via a spiral staircase and doubles as a function room. Food menu includes pub favourites and Sunday roasts.

September 2024: Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a very nice meal. Started with a half pint of the Proper Job IPA from St Austell Brewery. Was a nice light session IPA. Started with the pork and fennel sausage roll and it was very delicious 😋. Then tried the chicken liver pate which was very rich. Went well with the Young's sourdough bread. To end, had the quinoa salad which came with arugula, chickpeas, cauliflower, dates and almonds. The salad 🥗 was surprisingly filling because the portion size was large! Service was friendly. Would definitely come back again for more delicious food…

My sister and I had our first British Sunday roast EVER at The Britannia! From the ambience over the service and the food - all was AMAZING! 🫶🏼 The meat was tender, the sauce & sides were perfect & the mashed potatoes tasted so gooood! What a wonderful gem in Kensington. Firstly, the Fish & Chips are absolutely great. Secondly, Such a Friendly Staff, very accommodating. Our server Raj, made experience very good. We'll be back and we'll be bringing friends!! Can't wait.
