Cadogan Arms, Chelsea

About Cadogan Arms

Modern British gastropub with darkwood interior and mounted stag antlers, plus upstairs pool room.

After extensive refurbishment, this pub finally reopened in July 2021 by a joint venture between JKS Partners and Dominic Jacobs, the man behind The Running Horse pub in Mayfair. Very much an upmarket foodie pub now and the menu includes sandwiches and Sunday roasts. Four cask ale handpumps feature up to three rotating semi-regulars and sometimes a guest ale. On keg there is Guinness and a cider plus another dozen or so lagers and other beers.

Dating back to the 17th century when it was the Rose and Crown and built shortly after the King’s Road became a public thoroughfare, the name was changed to the Cadogan in 1838 when it was rebuilt. The pub retains some interesting external architectural features: note the red pilaster surrounds with Corinthian capitals; the inside is beautiful but modern-build. Sister pub to the George in Fitzrovia and Hound in Chiswick. Winner of the CAMRA pub designs awards (refurbishment category) 2023 – "the restoration of the pub sought to recreate the lost early Georgian architectural details and ornate timber panelling of the original building."

Within the Estrella Damm Top 50 gastropubs, 2024.

If you’re looking for tasty food with a traditional British atmosphere, look no further. This pub was established in 1838 and has been preserved very well - boasting Victorian features throughout. The food was tasty - not the best of the best but tasty. If you are a tourist and want to experience the whole British pub package - come here. We had: Venison pie - rich and perfectly made Fish and chips - a tad oil but the fish was very fresh and flaky Mussels - tasty, comes with a nice zesty sauce.

This pub is very cutesy very demure. They don’t do too much and don’t do too little. They are very mindful and do just enough! Loved the vibe and decor inside! I came here by myself as a solo traveler and felt very welcomed and comfortable. I had two spicy peach frozen margaritas!! These were divine but for 14£ I wish they came in a bigger glass. I sipped them down way too quickly I needed more liquid!! I ended eating dinner here I got the small fish and chips! It was really good! I enjoyed the sauce and smashed green peas that came with it. I was curious because I never had sticky…

Beautiful pub on the Kings Road, lovely flowers on the outside of the pub with small seating area on the pavement, perfect for sitting in the summer sun, watching the world go by. Inside is a stunning interior and decorative panelling. It is one of the most beautiful pubs in London. Great selection of drinks & the Guinness was good.

My quest for English Trifle was fulfilled at the Cadogan Arms. Rich furnishings and the opulence was enhance by the casual Pub atmosphere. The friendly staff was steep with professionalism. Each patron was greeted warmly, and their concerns for their guest health was apparent as they ask about allergies with each food order. Abeil was my service provider and his recommendations lead me to the most satisfying meal whilst in jolly England. Thanks to all for the wonderful dining experience. Clyde

3.5 stars. First the good things - plush velvety feel, with crooning old jazz in the background. Nice relaxed feel for our late weekday lunch. Unhurried service (dessert took an absolute age), but what left me aghast was the tab of £ 100 for two (for two pints of cider, two mains and two desserts), which even for a smart pub on the King's Road, seems rather a lot.
