About Cross Keys

Vibrant restaurant & bar serving creative takes on traditional Euro-Brit food in a historic setting.

Following one of the hardest-fought battles in London to save a pub from developers and with, at one point, squatters in the pub, a long lease on the ground floor and basement of the building was granted by Parsons Green Land to the the DM Group, who, following an extensive refit, as most original fittings were destroyed, reopened the pub in 2015.

Today's Cross Keys is primarily a gastropub, but, as well as the tables laid for diners at the rear, there is plenty of space at the front of the pub for drinkers. The decor is dominated by bare brick walls, some half-height panelled and others decorated with stripped pre-used wooden doors and large wooden shutters (said to be from a Portuguese asylum!). The back wall is cleverly mirrored to reflect light from the skylight above. As well as bar stools at a plain oak bar, there is a mixture of types of dining tables and chairs.

Ales are from the Butcombe range. Food-wise, as well as a full menu at meal times bar snacks, including Scotch eggs sausage rolls and Welsh rarebit, are available all day. Prices reflect the location.

The Cross Keys Pub in Chelsea is a charming spot with fresh flowers, a warm ambience, and friendly, smiling service. It attracts a great crowd, offering a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing. Conveniently located near the river, it's a great spot for a drink and food. Will be back soon!

Came for mother's day at about 5pm. Food was delicious but service left a lot to be desired especially as by that time it wasn't very busy - not attentive, asked the same question by multiple members of staff, brisk and didn't return to take plates, empty glasses, kept forgetting to bring over tap water and didn't ask about dessert. Just a bit rude too as they first poured the wine they missed my glass and spilt all over my cutlery (absolutely no harm done accidents happen!) but the issue was they then made a comment like 'oops' and said maybe you'd rather pour it and then walked away leaving…

We’ve experienced a great Sunday roast, real British cuisine. The reservation process was very easy and the people there were friendly and warm

What a delightful discovery! Popped in for a light bite and was greeted by our server (Thomas?) who was friendly and knowledgeable - (which is so helpful and sadly rare when you have food intolerance issues!) Food was delicious, and arrived quickly. The pub itself is light and bright with gorgeous flower displays. All in all a faultless experience from start to finish, I’m looking forward to coming back soon.
