Castle, Notting Hill

About Castle

Modern take on a traditional pub with leather booths and stained-glass castle panel behind the bar.

Built as the Warwick Castle in 1853 and probably designed by Thomas Pocock. Typically for many pubs at the time, the first licensee was also the builder, Paul Felthouse, who sold it on after a year to Meux Brewery. The name was shortened in 2002. Food includes sandwiches, brunches, Sunday roasts. Cask ales not always available.

Absolutely friendly staff, gave us a lot of attention, helped to choose the drinks. Everything was served fast and so fresh abd tasty. The pie and fish and chips are very good and the price isn’t scary at all. A small tip, to be sure you will have the Sunday roast you should reserve a table for earlier than 19 o’clock. We came somewhat too late, but still the experience was amazing. And don’t skip the desert, they are great as well!

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the table where we made reservations has the best view (near the window close to the entrance). Guys from here are so friendly. Also the food is the greatest! We recommend fish and chips. The best in the country!! No.1!!

This was the first meal we ate when we got to London. We were walking around Notting Hill and decided the menu looked good enough after a long day of traveling and it ended up being one of our favorite meals on the whole trip. Service was excellent and the food came out super fast and was so good. 10/10! Was super excited to find a margarita and Heinz ketchup 🤣 it healed me after a long flight from the US

The Sunday roast beef at The Castle Portobello is highly praised for its perfectly cooked, tender meat and flavorful seasoning. Accompanied by classic sides like crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and savoury gravy, the meal is well-balanced and satisfying. Diners appreciate the elegant presentation and the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall, it offers a delightful and traditional Sunday dining experience that is highly recommended. Thanks to Chef Simona, the Sunday roast beef was amazing!!!! 😍
