About Catford Constitutional

Laid-back, traditional pub with dining area and garden, for cask ales and classic British food.

This reincarnation of the Constitutional, a short distance away from the original venue of the same name that closed in 2019, was opened by Antic in early November 2022 in a former Argos store. The décor of the large rectangular bar area is typical Antic shabby chic with an eclectic mix of wallcoverings, lighting and furniture. Background music is often played, and at increased volume on weekend evenings. The food menu focuses on British pub classic meals and roasts on Sundays and is prepared in an open to view kitchen. 5 handpumps.

There is an entrance inside to the Fairytop roof garden with variable opening hours.

Popped in for a break from packing for our trip. Had a couple of drinks and food. Might I say, that the steak and ale pie we had was divine, it came beautifully presented on the plate with plenty of greens mash and gravy. What a generous portion also. Great price! Also the first one they’ve ever made! John the bartender was well mannered and super friendly, asking us to come back soon! Quiet night for a Wednesday, food is decent and staff are lovely. Head down for a pint or two with pals. Thoroughly recommend! :)

Great beer, food and music. Good range of beers. Fabulous burgers. Marvellous rooftop bar. Good wine selection. Rooftop Bar closed for winter. Downstairs now open again with slightly revised menu.

A great discovery. A really cool bar/restaurant with amazing staff and top class food. Drinks were lovely, wide selection. Really accessible for wheelchair users too, level access, accessible toilet and the staff were so helpful. We'll be back for sure!

"SUNDAY ROASTS ARE HERE" .... they are not. The long-suffering barman tells me of automated emails I should have received, incorrect websites, and understaffing meaning they can't open both floors at once. Instead of a lovely sunday roast, I get a delayed opening and to witness the bartender telling a stream of people they can't have the roast they booked for. They leave and, I assume, go to wetherspoons across the road. I eat my burger (and crisps?!? £12) and have a pint - it is fine.

CCC has today launched Sunday Roast - finally! I went to check it out with a friend and her son. We were not disappointed! The food was absolutely yummy! Perfectly cooked beef, red cabbage was something else - a bit sweet taste with a zingy finish - perfect! Veg not overcooked, nice gravy. And the portions are very generous. I’ll be definitely coming back! The boy has a cheeseburger + fries which were also great. I definitely recommend it, specially as the prices are very fair.
