About Chelsea Ram

Knick knacks adorn the walls and much of the furniture is antique at this laid-back local pub.

Built in 1887 as the Ashburnham Arms by the Royal Chelsea Brewery on a provisional licence which, unfortunately for the brewery, was not confirmed by the Middlesex licensing justices. The premises remained vacant until 1892 when it was occupied by the St John's Ashburnham Institute. It eventually became licensed in 1984 when it was bought by Young’s; it is located near the former Lots Road Power Station and Auction Rooms. Refurbished by Young's with a light and spacious gastro-pub ambience, it has not lost its original community atmosphere. The pub is split into a main bar area and a large dining room to the rear; there are distinctive arched windows with the Ram symbol etched in the glass. The staff show commitment to beer quality plus an emphasis on good food availability, including daily specials.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful Sunday Roast at The Chelsea Ram with family and some of the kids' friends. The veggie option was delicious, and the rest of the family raved about the beef, chicken, and burgers. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, especially with my dog, Hope—they really make us feel welcome every time. It's a fantastic local spot with great food, drinks, and service. We always have such a lovely time here and look forward to returning soon, whether it’s for another meal or just to relax with a drink. Highly recommend!

Myself and my partner have been to this pub once before and remembered his lovely it was and decided to return! Before watching a Chelsea football game yesterday we booked for dinner here again. we can say that we definitely made the right decision to return. The staff were super friendly and there were no delays with getting served! The food was absolutely fantastic- definitely recommend the chicken and mushroom pie! We have decided that this will always be our go to pub before any match day in the future! Thank you 😊

Everything is absolutely perfect, the food and the roast is fantastic… would prefer to keep as a secret as I hope this review doesn’t make it busier! 😊

Love the ambience inside. Service is superb. Huge and delicious serving. The beer we ordered was the perfect pint no bubbles at the top 😂

We hosted a Burns Night dinner party celebration in the private room upstairs at the Chelsea Ram. The private room itself is cosy with its own bar and toilet. Jon, David and team were absolutely amazing from the day we booked to the evening of the event helping us organise the logistics for a perfect night. Our guests all commented on how tasty the food was and how nice it was to have such generous portion sizes in a London pub. The pub itself is tucked away down a lovely residential road in Chelsea near the river and is perfect to host gatherings of friends, family or colleagues. It is warm…
