About Dog & Duck
Since re-opening, availability of real ale can be suspect. Maybe phone before you visit. Reported October 2024, real ale is served.
Small, friendly pub with one bar, popular with locals and welcoming to visitors. A large screen TV shows sporting events and gets very busy when Spurs or Arsenal are playing. Local football teams meet here and there is a golf society. The walls are adorned with local history photographs and a Victorian map of the area. The patio-style walled garden at the rear welcomes dogs at quiet times.
Pizzas made on the bar can be ordered at reasonable times. Also available for take-away.

We have lived locally and been in before and it wasn’t great, but it’s recently under new ownership and I have to say it’s completely changed. It’s a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It’s dog friendly and the staff were so great. We can’t wait to come back.

A few weeks ago, we had our baby’s christening party at The Dog and Duck. Ronan and Hannah went out of their way to make the day special for us and our friends and family. They organised a trad band who were excellent and we were looked after from start to finish. The food was lovely and they didn’t mind the children running around. Thank you for all the hard work! We all had a wonderful day.

Nice local pub. We went in for a real ale, however there was nothing on offer! How did Guinness, which was great! The pomade was lovely 🙂 and although I don't normally watch football, it was quite nice to see the Arsenal and Fulham game, as it was not to intrusive. I will definitely come back, as the pub is very friendly, the clientele welcoming and the interior appealing.

Having previously checked with you that you would show the rugby, I drove a considerable way to meet friends and have an enjoyable evening chatting, drinking and watching the local rugby team on TV in a crucial game. The key point here is that we had previously checked with you. So once we were settled and had watched the first half, you then inform us you are turning it off as someone wants to watch Watford v Leeds (ie. Not local) in the football. One person! He had already missed the first 30 minutes yet you thought it was ok to mess up our evening rather than his. So in summary, 2 people…
