About Dogstar

Pub/club with floorboards and space to dance next to old portraits, velvet drapes and a chandelier.

Antic have brought real ale back to this late night music, theatre and entertainment venue. April 2015 selling Black Sheep Monty Python Holy Grail. September 2017 selling Volden only.

Note: In the evenings ALL customers must have a valid form of Photo ID (Passport, Driving License or Home Office approved proof of age card that clearly displays the PASS hologram) regardless of age or appearance.

8 May 2024 visitor report: No ID required and no sign of a bouncer. I don't know if live music is still in the offing.

Food is now ordered from the neighbouring The Joint.

Cask: four unclipped pumps with a 'Coming Soon' sign hanging limply across them.

I found it extremely quiet for a Saturday night, with only a handful of people. Very different from how I remembered it 15/16 years ago. This place used to be so lively.

A large pub in the heart of Brixton. During the day, it's relatively quiet, but evenings are often pretty busy. It has a backroom with a pool table (pictured) and table football (also pictured), and there's a decent selection of beers on tap. My only gripes are the seats in the backroom are pretty uncomfortable and it gets pretty cold, especially in the backroom but event in the main bar area, in the winter. Other than that, it's a fine place for a drink.

It’s a fun late night spot. Lots of space to hang out. Decor is fun. Bartenders are sexy and rude but a cool rude, like you want it kinda rude. Toilets smell, of course, but it’s where the beer you’re gunna overdrink will go so FINE!

Spacious, friendly staff, good selection behind the bar.. Quite during the week and the weekends are mental. You get all walks of life in this space as it stays open till 4am. So when evety where else closes, they all come crawling to this joint. Security are on point. There are 3 different rooms. All woth a different vibe. They also have a massive screen for sports watching, if that's what you're into. And unlike most pubs/clubs that smell of sticky beer, this place is cleanamd smell good. Thumbs up from me 😊
