About Ferry Boat Inn

Homely & rustic, family friendly waterside pub with garden serving classic pub grub with deals.

23 Feb 2024 - There are five hand pumps at the pub, of which three are often available in our recent experience, including today. There were pump clips displaying five beers, of which two were ‘coming soon’. Three were by East London, plus Doom Bar and Ghost Ship.

Comfortable large pub with various rooms with a mix of seating ranging from dining tables to settees. The entrance area has high tables and stools and a stone floor and the two areas to left and right are more eating areas. There a couple of fire places that appear original as does the water pump in front of the pub. Framed drawings of London buildings are scattered throughout. Large garden at the back in addition to a few seats at the front.

On the banks of the Low Maynard reservoir, part of the Lee Valley Reservoir Chain, this tranquil spot consists of wooded islands and marshes, and is a magnet for bird watchers. Existing for over 100 years, its location has made it popular with locals, travellers to London and even holidaymakers. in 1877, over 12,000 holidaymakers arrived at the nearby Bruce Grove Station with droves descending onto the Ferry Boat to dance in the gardens, which from time to time sported a brass band. Can get very busy at times.

Lovely quaint pub, located right by the canal. Nice atmosphere, with a varied menu offering good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes, which arrived piping hot and had decent portion sizes. We left well-fed and watered. I'd definitely return and recommend to others.

I went in all 3 times, once for fish and chips, once for normal lunch (pies) and last for a Sunday roast. The place is lovely and the people offer a good service but both my boyfriend and I was never fond of the food. The fish was overcooked, a bit dry and felt old, while the rest of food was ok, just ok and edible, which is not something I am looking for when I go out for a meal. But the place is indeed lovely and a great atmosphere for a drink and friends’ company!

There was no intention to head to the Ferry Boat Inn, until the 30°C sunshine made us find the nearest watering hole after an unexpected adventure around Walthamstow and its wetlands. This pub felt like a mirage, however it was real and we filled our humps with a well earned refreshing drink and tasty focaccia sandwiches. 😎🍺🐫 This pub is a beautiful venue, and we were lucky to have arrived while most were still at work, as I expect it's a place that can get quite busy. There's a feel of calm as it sits between the River Lea and Coppermill Stream, a perfect place to enjoy a nice cold drink…

Decent local pub near the wetlands on Tottenham. Lovely outdoor seating area good for summertime which has blankets inside for when it gets a bit nippy which is always a nice, thoughtful touch! Lovely scenic views outdoors. Inside is a bit cramped. Roast dinner was average. Cheesey cauliflower is good and worth ordering!

Great location and atmosphere, I love to go there at summer as they have a great beer garden overlooking the canal. In Autumn is very cozy, they always have a nice Sunday roast on the menu but sometimes they ate hit or miss. Went back today and I was blown away!! Triple roast was to die for, all veg and meats cooked to perfection. Quick and friendly service and great atmosphere. Keep up the good work!!!
