About Fox Inn
Smart, candlelit village gastropub with leather sofas, ornate chandeliers and a large garden.
Reopened in early January 2024 after being closed for refurbishment, this is now a smart and clean, modern yet rural, gastropub-cum-brasserie. Over 21s only in the bar area.
Located in the picturesque village of Keston, at the edge of the common, this is a popular upmarket pub with a focus on high quality food. Single L-shaped bar serves the open plan area with the separate dining area at the front and the drinks only area at the rear. The dining area is beige carpeted with dark grey wooden panelling, silver grey wallpaper with woodland motif and a fireplace with sofas. The bar area has brown wooden panelling and flag stoned flooring whilst the dark grey theme extends into the drinking area, adorned with pictures of foxes. An outdoor terrace at the rear leads down to the back garden.
As of 28th January 2024, four cask ales are normally available.
The London LOOP trail passes by the premises, providing a convenient stopping point for walkers.

First visit to The Fox and we loved it. We absolutely loved the decor and soft furnishings especially the 2 orange easy chairs. Our waiter even though young was really sweet and friendly. Service a little slow but nice not to feel rushed. Food was superb and loved the scotch egg. Very reasonably priced and tasty bottle of red wine. 2 course and a bottle of wine for 2 was £90 including tip. Will be definitely be back.

Wasn't expecting it to be so posh inside. The food was great too so ended up getting 4 courses. Veggie options were interesting compared to the normal fare, and the portion sizes were just right.

This is our perfect local pub - and more. The new look since reopening is beautiful, so welcoming & relaxed. And it’s great to have the restaurant side as well as the pub section. The food is fantastic, my current personal favourites are fish & chips and seafood linguine. Although I do like the fact the menu changes over time, too. I haven’t tried any beers but I can vouch for the rosé! I would absolutely recommend a visit. Paul, Gail & the team will make you feel really, really welcome.

Fourth visit but first Sunday lunch and it was superb. Generous but sensible portions. The beef was cooked to perfection. Although there was a wait, we were informed and were happy sitting on the lovely covered decking area. Paul and Gail have clearly worked extremely hard on making this pub/restaurant a welcoming, pleasing and relaxing place to be. They’ve also chosen a great team. Strongly recommend. Thank you.

So happy that the Fox is open again and what a transformation so cosy and welcoming! New owners, new chef and new everything it seems! Half the pub is assigned for the Brasserie and the other half for pub drinks! Great menu with Food very reasonably priced and super tasty. We will definitely be back!
