The George Inn dates back over 350 years and was the last coaching inn on the route to London. The pub attracts a wide age range, although more of a younger crowd attend at weekends. The range of beers has increased in recent years, with 5 or 6 on offer most days. A reasonable choice of food is available and is of the pub grub style - burgers, pies, steak, fish and chips etc. Piped music plays on a 2 hour loop, but is generally not too intrusive. A TV shows BBC News channel (muted, with subtitles) and occasionally football/rugby, if on terrestrial TV.
The pub sign portrays St George defeating the dragon. The weatherboarded exterior has changed little over time and the building is the oldest in the High Street. Since the 1970s, this has also been called "Ye Olde George Inn" and "Ye George Inn".

Decent Saturday lunch date. We've just moved to Beckenham and we'll come here again :) The best thing about this place is the staff. Warm, proactive and eager to please, they made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The atmosphere is overall, very nice. The building itself is a beautiful, classic old town public house. The fruit machine and the slightly tacky decorations (sorry... The atmosphere was great, food and drink were excellent. Loved the entertainment, which was Tom Carradine's Sing along. The only negative thing was the seating. I ordered at table for the show and hoping to eat and watch the show but we were placed right in the corner at the back.

Went to a music event so really good atmosphere. Satvat bar to get served for ages, apparently they thought someone else was buying my drink as I was in a wheelchair! The only food on offer was friend and greasy

Just stopped here for an after dinner drink. It's a lovely traditional pub. The prices are reasonable for the area. They have a large outside area and a decent amount of seating inside. They do good however I didn't try this. It's a little dark inside but overall a nice atmosphere. I would recommend visiting!
