Very busy in the summer when it is popular with families. The interior is wood paneled and beamed and has a comfortable atmosphere. Handy for the cemeteries. Lunchtime food. Claudia the manager has a varying range of well kept ale on tap. She is also welcome to advice and recommendations on ales to have on for the future The pub has the regular pub entertainment, but also has a jamming session for local musicians on a Friday evening, cabaret on a Saturday and an open mic session on Sunday afternoons.

positively surprised by the atmosphere at the fleece, after years of being away i popped back with my old mate for a pint, turned out to be a few 🤷🏻‍♂️, had lamb shank ( i definitely recommend), the staff was friendly and i want to say thank you again with this occasion, overall lovely place, definitely coming back!

A lovely old pub overlooking Wanstead Flats. Good ales and very reasonably priced food. I just popped in for a pint on my way back from a walk. It always looks good at Christmas too when they have lights up around the bar. A bit of countryside charm in what is essentially East London. I've known the place since childhood and always visit when I'm over to see my family.

Been coming for years. One of my friends had her wedding reception here about 6 years ago. It’s a nice local pub to come to and their Sunday roasts are lovely! Would highly recommend to come here. Lamb shanks are lovely also. Christmas decor is lovely.

This place was used to a great place had good managament. Now the staff is rude, inexperienced, all the good old staff has gone, glasses are dirty like on the picture below, no dog treats in the past few occasions, half of the menu not available… very disappointed.
