About Great Exhibition
Casual pub named after the 1851 exhibition, with wood/mosaic interior and regular music sessions.
Victorian pub, formerly the Crystal Palace Tavern. Ex-Allied, then Punch, until it was renamed when taken over in 2012 by the Inn Brighton pub company (from 2014 renamed to the Laine Pub Company). Whilst the historic two-bar layout no longer exists, the current incarnation does however create an excellent contemporary pub, which is very popular with the locals. Some period features do remain, particularly the side porch.

Second time here for a Sunday roast. We don’t bother with starters because the main is huge! We had 2 21day aged rumps and 2 slow roast pork belly with sides of cauli cheese and creamed leeks and extra broccoli- which we didn’t need! Absolutely one of the best pub roasts I’ve ever had . Highly recommend. The pub is dog friendly and family friendly. Lovely staff and great food. We had a crumble and 2 chocolate fondants with ice cream for pudding. Totally stuffed!!

Great Sunday Lunch. We tried the roast beef, roast pork belly and fish and chips. The beef and fish and chips were both very good, the pork belly was tender with crispy crackling and served with plenty of vegetables and a large Yorkshire Pudding, portions are definitely generous. My only comment was perhaps there was too much gravy already on the plate, but it did not detract from the overall quality of the food. The pub is really busy and clearly very popular with local families so booking is essential. During our time there, tables were constantly being turned to accommodate more…

Roasts & a drink. Great plates of food, chicken and pork were quality, portioned nicely. Best roast in area.

Absolutely huge delicious Sunday roast in a pub with a nice vibe; both indoors and outside in the beer garden. Service charge being added to our bill was a surprise though...

Decent pub with a long history, 120 years old I've been informed. Lot's of seating inside and out. It does food though I have not tried any. From what I could see, it looked okay. The look, layout and clientele speaks to Peckham's gradual gentrification and it attracts a young and rather bohemian looking crowd. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be lots of loud music pumping out in the bar area. After recent pub visits sounding like WW3 had started, it's a welcome relief. Bar staff are helpful and efficient though one got my order wrong while another took my drink away before I'd finished it…
