What a Pub! Finally got to meet the famous Olga, who's absolutely lovely and clearly a great supervisor. I was served by Theo, who got the vegan aubergine main course that he recommended - which was DELICIOUS - very promptly. The new management seems to have an exciting vision for this classic pub, and i can't wait to come back to try more of the dishes from the new menu. The atmosphere is intimate and friendly without bordering on over-crowdedness, and the wood-panelled decor is warm, classic, and cozy - which pairs well with the mix of classic and modern drinks (beers, and otherwise) on…

Visited the Palmerston as part of a large party upstairs for a friend's birthday and we were not disappointed. They were really accomodating to a large group (30ish people), were able to provide a gluten and dairy free roast and the service was very smooth. Overall a great experience.

Have had a Sunday roast here and a weekday dinner. Absolutely outstanding food both times, and staff were amazing and very friendly. Olga in particular really looked after us and was really lovely to our dog too 😊 Thank you!

I have visited the pub on Sunday with my friends and family. We were served by the lovely lady- Olga. She made our stay very special even though we have waited for a short time to be served. The place was busy. We had roast (pork, chicken and beef) and it was really good. Yorkshire puddings were just brilliant. None of our party had any complaints about the food or the service. It is a good pub to visit with your friends or family. We will definitely return.

Had lunch with a friend last week and it was a great experience. Lovely friendly welcome, nice traditional decor, food was fantastic. My friend had the burger and I had mussels and chips. Piping hot and delicious. Clean plates all round! Would highly recommend for meals or just a quick drink. So hard to find nice pubs like this nowadays and this is a real gem.
