Ex-Courage, Inntrepreneur, Unique, now Enterprise Inns. Narrow interior, with plaster-moulded cornice and ceiling roses, classical frieze under the ceiling, thin column with fancy capital, wallpaper, red-upholstered banquettes. Decent mix of longer-standing and more recent incomer locals.

Decent pub very close to Oval Station. Only one cask beer on handpump when I visited. Nicely refurbished since I last had a pint here about 4 years ago. A number of television screens showing various sports when I was there on a Saturday evening. Very friendly lady running the bar. A few tables outside on the pavement.

Expensive for what it is. Very run down old man’s pub with unwelcoming staff. Much nicer pub a few doors down.

It's a very simple and functional pub, but staff are always friendly and they've got a very good selection on tap (never had a spoilt pint there - unlike some others places nearby who charge more too!) and you usually can find a table. Music isn't loud if you're just looking to chat to mates, but they play all the big games when they're on. We're big fans of the Hanover. (Oh and have I mentioned that the bathrooms are kept amazingly clean? Because the bathrooms are amazingly clean.)
