On the border of South Lambeth and Kennington, and within easy reach of The Oval cricket ground, this 19th century building, with a striking blue exterior, has been impressively refurbished as a comfortable, popular, single-bar dining pub.
The décor features portraiture in the style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; can you spot Van Gogh and James Joyce?
There is a terrace in front, and an enclosed, split-level patio and garden (heated in colder weather) at the rear with a Burger Shack and views over the adjacent, post-war estate. The upstairs dining room is available for functions; diners and drinkers are equally welcome downstairs.

I recently visited Fentiman Arms and had the most incredible experience, all thanks to Kat’s exceptional service. She was friendly, attentive, and really made our visit enjoyable. However, the highlight of the evening was when she saved my pet fish from an unexpected disaster. Somehow, my fish ended up in a situation where it was drowning (yes, sounds crazy, but it happened!). Kat acted quickly and without hesitation, managing to save my fish from what could have been a very unfortunate incident. Lovely pub on a very pretty street close to Vauxhall park. Typically overpriced for London but decent selection of beers on tap. Never have any bar snacks like crisps or nuts though! It’s also a bit annoying that several tables are always reserved with no one actually sat at them. Staff need to remove these reserved signs if they’re not being used so other punters can sit down. Otherwise decent place!

Sunday roast was average same for the dishes my friend had fish and chips and burger. Staff was friendly garden is easy going especially on a summer evening

Please take a second to read the review as there is an explanation to my score of two stars for atmosphere. I've lived just by the Fentiman Arms for nearly 20 years and it's always been a great pub with super service and food (a firm favourite when anyone is down visiting) and Sunday was no exception but I have to say the Gents toilets were a disgrace. The stench was unbearable. It really needs sorting as it will actually stop me going in future if it isn't. A real shame as everything else was great.

I cannot thank Claudia and the team who looked after us last Saturday enough. We had a fantastic evening for my birthday celebrations but it felt like every member of the team went the extra mile on the night. From helping manage the tab, extra food orders, the surprise birthday cake and sparklers to helping locate missing presents - every member of the team were positive and happy to help. The pub was a great location and had a great atmosphere that evening too. I would very much recommend it for a summer event. Thank you all!
