About Hillgate
Dark wood-panelled bar where antique furnishings are mixed with traditional wooden tables.
Popular corner pub in the back streets off Notting Hill Gate, displaying an attractive external floral display in the summer. The pub was built in 1855 and was then named the Johnson Arms, being in what was then Johnson Street. The street and then the pub were both subsequently renamed.
The main bar room is deceptively spacious and features a back-bar with an attractive blend of Victorian and contemporary elements. Two or three cask ales are generally available. The menu includes many interesting dishes and roasts are available on Sundays.

This has become our fav local pub in the summer as it has great outdoor seating. We came in many times and their Sunday roast was lovely. The chicken breast was really juicy and the beef was very well cooked so we are very satisfied with what we have. We also enjoy their steak and fries days as well as it is great value not to mention the huge portion of mussels for 20 quid.

On the hunt for Londons best roast - the Hillgate is a lovely pub with great settings. Give the Beef roast 10/10 but have to say we personally weren’t a fan of the cornfed chicken - it had a distinct cornfed taste to it. Other than this really lovely Sunday roast!

The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is amazing! This is probably the best pub in London! Never had better service! If you’re in Notting Hill I highly recommend you visit!

The food was amazing. We tried a few things and all of them was really averagely priced but tasted great. Service was great they were attentive without being over bearing, I'd definitely stop by again in the future.

Great pub! We throughly enjoyed sitting outside and out Fish and Chips dinner. The staff was great.
