About Holy Tavern

1990s pub in a 1720 building with a facsimile 18th-century interior, selling ales and fruit beers.

Opened in 1996 as a re-creation of an 18th-century tavern. After over 20 years as the Jerusalem Tavern it was reopened in March 2022 in its current guise. The pub is now run by the building's owners but the tie up with St Peter's brewery remains for the time being. The decor is bare wooden floors and bare walls, with a mixture of wooden chairs and tables.

Not an old pub, but a new’ish one designed to look old. Charming place but a bit cold upon my visit (an open front door and no heating made sure of that). Good ales and good food. Not cheap and I was very surprised to see a 12.5% service charge added to my bill. I paid at the bar so I don’t know what service I paid for…

Charming pub with proper craft beers on tap. I didn't have time to eat but the food smelled lovely. Friendly staff. Will go back and eat soon

Honestly one of the best burgers I ever had. Did not expect that one at all.. it just happened. The beers are awsome. Liked the alternative rock playlist too - tired of this random teenager radio pop.

A chill place with lots of drinks offerings. Ordered a nice Caesar salad, calamari, fish and chips and padrons. Unique test, freshly made and swift service. Wanted scotch eggs but not on the menu. Service was warm but a bit hurried towards the end.

My companions were in danger of judging a book by it's cover. That said I thought it looked just as it should - one of London's oldest pubs. IT'S BRILLIANT!! Beer, food, service, all excellent. Had some of the best fish and chips in Southern England I've ever had - and I have had a lot! This place is FULL of character.
