About King William IV
Ivy covered pub with a log fire, grandfather clock and paved terrace with panoramic valley views.
Friendly 18th-century free house clinging to hillside with spectacular views over the Mole Valley and Norbury Park. Quiet during winter but the splendid terraced garden can be packed in summer. Originally an ale house for Lord Beaverbrook's estate staff. Excellent old-fashioned main bar is popular with all and includes a large grandfather clock and an open fire. There is also a small lounge bar, now accessible through an archway from the main bar. An extensive home-cooked menu offers traditional pub food plus more exotic dishes and vegetarian options. Steep steps can make access difficult for the infirm. A public car park is on A24 southbound at foot of Byttom Hill. Live jazz evenings on Sundays throughout the Summer are replaced by a quiz night during winter. Opening hours vary with the seasons. Accredited for beer quality during 2023.

I couldn’t praise this place enough! The views are stunning, the atmosphere delightful. The food absolutely scrumpy delicious - quite a few vegan options which I appreciated very much! The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. I would have liked to leave a handsome tip, but I didn’t have any sterling pounder only euros (and they only accept tips in cash.) I highly recommend it!

I have never left a review but this place is just incredible!!! I highly recommend! I came for the first time for Sunday lunch with family and despite it being incredibly busy and us not having booked we were treated with warmth. The waitresses were so lovely, smiley and attentive. The chefs were great- we had the lamb, a gluten free lamb, roast beef and risotto; the lamb was so delicious, the roast potatoes were crunchy and fluffy and the gluten free roast had gluten free gravy! The beef and risotto were also delicious! The manager was also proactive and helpful! The only down side is that…

Fantastic country pub with seating inside and outside. There is covering on some of the outside seating on less sunny days. Very dog-friendly. The view is fabulous, as is the food. Superb roasts, ploughman’s and desserts with a good selection of drinks. This place pairs beautifully with the plethora of gorgeous walks and rides all around the area. Booking at the weekend is strongly advised - it’s rightfully very popular.
