About Marquis of Granby
Traditional pub with dark wood interior and upstairs dining room, for cask ales and a British menu.
An historic pub rebuilt in 1933/4, frequented by politicians, civil servants, media folk and concert goers from nearby St John’s, Smith Square. The Marquis of Granby was a soldier, rising to become Commander-in-Chief in 1766; a plaque outside the pub gives his history.
Wood panelling, brass rails, partitioned window seating and chandeliers characterise the traditional downstairs bar. The upstairs dining room has the three regular beers. Food is served until 10pm. In addition to the interesting main menu there is a speciality pie menu and an afternoon tea menu. Children are welcome upstairs 12-3 and 5-9; downstairs 3-5.
Food options include takeaway and delivery as well as eating in the pub.

Great pub worth visiting that is just a short walk from main attractions like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and more. Great service and classically maintained.

Very good Nicholson's pub about five minutes walk from the north side of Lambeth Bridge. Seven cask beers on handpump when I visited. A couple of tables outside along with lots of standing room on the street, some of it covered. The Marquis of Granby was a soldier, rising to become Commander-in-Chief in 1766; a board outside the pub gives his history.

Stopped in for a bite and a pint on the way back to our hotel and they had a beef pie and beer deal, both absolutely hit the spot. Sorry forgot to get a picture of the pie, I was to hungry.

First time staying in this part of London and finding the Marquis. Beautiful building and rooms. Your staff is wonderful; friendly, accommodating, and excellent customer service. While not applying to us, very courteous that they asked about food allergies when taking our order. Your kitchen staff is also excellent - the food was delicious (the lamb shank bone in the pie is brilliant and the carrots were really great). Also, shout out for the strong wifi; I decided to catch up on my work here with my laptop and a few pints instead of a stuffy hotel room. My only regret is not finding you…

A great place for a pie in Westminster. The best pie is the classic steak and ale pie which won a British pie award. The staff were helpful and attentive. You sometimes will see an MP in this pub and I have heard for better or worse this place is a favourite of Nigel Farage.
