About Mc & Sons

There's plenty of Brewer's Tudor dark beams in this pub, and an original "Bass on Draught" window survives at the front. This is a small corner-site pub which has the look of always having been a basic boozer. Furnishings are in the traditional pub style - soft green upholstered banquettes combined with round tables and stools. A wealth of historic memorabilia and pictures of characters from bygone years adorn the walls. This is a friendly locals' pub.

Having closed in early 2023 when the licensee retired, the pub was subsequently acquired by Windmill Taverns and reopened under its new name in late May 2023. Card payments only.

Their Thai food are tasty and authentic, huge kudos to their chefs and kitchen staff. I keep coming back for it and it never fails. There are also plenty of options for vegetarian. Of course the pub itself is also nice, but the food really surprised me.

Green curry was excellent. Spicy and flavoursome. Pad Thai was also very good. The dumplings were nice but a bit bland. I had tried their Chiang Mai Chicken before so this time we ordered the cauliflower version. Not convinced. The chicken was way better. The cauliflower was a bit undercooked and it needed seasoning. All in all it was a very good meal.

Mc & Sons Vauxhall hosted our Irish dancing group for our 5th birthday party! We had 70 people join. Cambridge the manager was so helpful and supportive from start to finish, as was Ryan, the beer garden is brilliant with lovely lighting, food was amazing and came out so fast, the irish band were amazing and played for over 6 hours! The atmosphere was brilliant we all had the best night. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a great irish pub, a weekday cosy pint or a lively weekend night! Thank you so much! ☘️ 🎶

Ginger, I came to this pub, expecting not much, but the service from Jordan and Harry was exceptional. We had a few baby Guinnesses and butter, bing butter boom it was lovely. I love you guys, thank you give them a promotion.

Good space and unique interior. All let down by the service. I know this is probably a one off experience but I did ask the only barman behind the bar what was wrong and he told me he had finished at 2am the night before and had to start again this morning at 11am. So Understaffed. Bypass the cocktails, they are premixed and expensive.
