About Oak

Traditional pub meals served in laid-back surrounds with outdoor seating, quiz nights & live music.

Now run by Fest & Revel since this reopened in June 2022, this is now a smart refurbished corner pub with friendly and welcoming service. Open plan interior with wooden flooring and various seating areas with a mix of high and low tables that lead off from the single long narrow bar with modern wooden surround. Tastefully decorated in dark grey green with cream walls separated by a dado rail and cream coloured ceiling, complemented by mirrors and quirky pictures. The front of the pub has one corner with double aspect windows letting in plenty of light, whilst the other corner has sofas and original fireplace. There is another original fireplace at the far end of the bar, which leads into the large rear area given over to dining. Light and bright, this has painted brickwork on the back wall. A small partially enclosed paved patio garden leads out from this with plenty of tables. Dogs are welcome with a wall of fame of photos of customers' dogs !

Single cask ale now re-introduced but emphasis is on the keg beer range, which includes Brixton and Gipsy Hill microbreweries.

The Oak hosted my 40th birthday which was an all day affair! Having had some issues with another venue I was blow away by Kiki’s attentiveness and support planning the day and then with her team’s management and service on the day. We had the dining room to ourselves which gave us a great space to enjoy. Light and airy with a great balance of sound. I also had the freedom to decorate and arrange the space. The food for both lunch and the party platters in the evening were absolutely incredible. Every one of my guests was complimentary about just how tasty it was! We’ll definitely be back to…

Good was great, staff were helpful and friendly. We went on a Sunday and the yorkshire puddings were massive! Best fish & chips I’ve had in a long time, good choice of beers on tap too. The live music was also a nice accompaniment.

So we held a buffet here for our wedding venue, and things could not have gone more perfectly, they helped our family and friends set up the venue while we were at the ceremony, and were ready in an instant to help us with anything we needed, seriously things were at the drop of a hat and I felt a genuine passion from the staff in helping us have an absolutely perfect evening, the new manager, Rhys, is a lovely gentleman with a warming smile and he was also a huge asset in making everything roll smoothly. The pub itself has great decor, real comfy hole in the wall vibes, not the mention the…

Food was okay. Me and my wife had the roast beef. The beef was tasty, the roast potatoes were cooked nicely but there was only 3 on the plate. The carrot and parsnip were barely cooked and almost raw which me, my wife and the couple on the table next to us didn't enjoy. The side of cauliflower cheese, however, was delicious. The service was varied. There was an experienced lady who initially served us who was very good and attentive. However there are two or three younger staff who were not very attentive and couldn't find the desert menu. It turned out the desert menu was simply on the back…

Our first time here, we came for the Sunday roast and were not disapointed! Was nice we could come with our dog and that there were other options on the menu if you didn't fancy a roast. Was great service and value, we will definitely be back!
