About Old Ship

Three cask beers are constantly on rotation at this well-appointed pub with a long river frontage.

This is a pleasant riverside pub with good views up and down the Thames, renovated in early 2018 and externally in 2024. A veranda and railed-in patio area are at the front. Inside, there is a large lounge bar with modern decor and a separate side restaurant; the first-floor patio gives a good view of the Boat Race. A children's play area is handily close by. Normally two ales are available but this may dwindle to one at busy times; further updates welcome.

Genuinely solid pub food. I know this is a chain but you really can’t knock this place - they smashed the fish and chips! Love this view too

Really nice pub and great location. We reserved a table in the conservatory part of the pub. So we had a nice view of the river. Friendly service and good food. I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday roast.

Nice place. Food bit disappointing. My friend had prawns and then sausages. The gravy was watery, sausages not very flavoursome. Battered fish was tasty but were they oven chips? Just ok tbh. Edible at least but a little disappointing. View was lovely though.

We stopped by for a pint on our Sunday walk and lucked out with a great seat on the patio facing the river. My partner ordered the pie, which wasn't the prettiest plate, but he enjoyed it non the less. He said more gravy next time. I wasn't very hungry and got the prawn starter with a side salad. It was very tasty. However, I wish they had de-veined them for £12. I'd still eat them again, but when you're having a nice meal, you don't want to fiddle with shells and "veins".

Outdoor area on the Thames River. Perfect for sundowners. Fish and chunky chips served with tartare and curry sauce and mushy peas (£20). Meaty plant-based burgers available, served with shoestring fries (£20)
