About Olde Black Bull

Dating back to 1829, it is popular with shoppers thanks to it's location opposite Stratford Mall. Ceiling height etched windows illuminate the wood and glass panelled bar. Most of the floorspace is furnished with tables and chairs. Images of old Stratford compliment Irish drink adverts. A small canopied garden with six picnic benches can be found out back. Make use of the charity bookshelves on the side wall. Very busy when West Ham United are at home. Guest beers ordered via Heinekin.

    Was quiet when i came, but a really nice traditional looking pub. Good selection of lagers and ales as well. A definite irish feel.to.the place. Highly recommend

    Was a good place for quick drink. Outside drinking possible here. TV with sport and lots of Irish sport available. Was decent atmosphere, pretty chilled.

    We stayed a short distance from the pub when visiting London, Nice stylish pub, excellent beer, good service. Previous visits to pubs in the area were not good. Thank you for the experience.

    Here's the perspective of a Yank, but I found this to be one of the best experiences in my 48 hour stay in London enroute to Italy. The proprieters, Richard, and his mother are great souls and made a lonely American feel very welcome in England. Richard was personable and a great conversationalist as well as helpful about advise on the greater London area. His mother is a dear and we had a great time joking about US politics. If you have any Irish connections or experiences in Ireland, they are most welcome topics of discussion. A charming time and I look forward to retraining here one day…

    Great British pub experience. Sometimes they have live music, dj. Traditional british beers and spirits. Good atmosphere. Usually busy during the weekends, close to Stratford shopping centre and tube station. Bus stop just under 1 minute walking. Customers are locals, quite friendly. The pub has character and nice decorations.
