Olde Mitre, Hatton Garden

About Olde Mitre

A traditional 1547 real ale pub, tucked away in a small alleyway, with framed historical pictures.

Identified by CAMRA as having a nationally important historic interior, it is hidden in the alley between Hatton Garden and Ely Place. It has extensive wood panelling in the two bars and the snug. A small function room upstairs is available for special occasions. There has been a pub on this site since 1546; the current building is from the 18th century. Fuller's took over in 2009, but there are still other brewers' real ales on sale. Usually has a beer from the wood. Food is bar snacks including toasties and sausage rolls.

Such a cool atmosphere! Very friendly people, great drinks, and excellent service! Can be a bit hard to find if you don’t know what/where you’re looking for, but it’s absolutely worth it! Really a tremendous pub experience if that’s what you’re looking for.

A lovely little gem of a pub, tucked away down narrow alleys. A good range of bottled and draft ales. Looks old, feels old and is old. That's what it's all about. Unfortunately, like everywhere else they have to keep up with current regs and have cameras, cables, etc spoiling the true character of the place. Didn't try the food, but it looked good

Lovely old pub, great decor inside, beer is better than the other pubs we've been in this weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clientele was a mix of city boy workers and tourists. Worth tracking down.

What an awesome pub! Supposed to be the oldest in London. This is a real hidden gem. Go early or fight the crowds after 5pm!

A great little boozer. So much history. Great atmosphere with the staff and other patrons alike. Food is toasties, etc so adjust your expectations accordingly. Not for the Witherspoon drinker. I loved it and will go back.
