About Queens Head

Compact Victorian pub dating from 1736, offering art deco touches, real ale & bottled beer.

Unusual for the West End of London in that it is a free house, this compact but welcoming pub consists of a ground floor bar, with a few tables at the front and the rear and plenty of vertical drinking space with shelves for glasses and a few high stools in between, and another room upstairs, which used to be used as a restaurant. The traditional feel of the place is enhanced by an attractive back bar and wall mirroring with a partly lino covered wooden floor downstairs and a most unusual old leather-fronted bar upstairs.

Three cask ales are generally expected to be available. This is a popular pub at lunchtimes and pre- and post-theatre and, in common with other West End pubs, security may be at the door later in the evening.

Reported to be card payments only with cash not accepted.

The Queens Head on the corner of Denman Street is a Soho institution, great beer both from the cask and the keg. The staff are lovely and service swift and smooth. Busy on a Wednesday evening with loads of people having fun. Super place for a pint. 🙃

Super little pub just off Glasshouse St. Phenomenally small for central London establishment, very homely. Lots of regulars - do we call them 'locals' anymore? - efficient bar staff. The pub has a superb wood carved mirror at the rear which is more than pleasing. This kind of interior decor is more than welcome, especially as on first glance it makes the pub look twice the size. Neat. Great Guinness. Very good pub. I'll be back.

Lovely friendly traditional yet modern pub. Open mic nights, decent prices for drinks considering the West End is expensive. Helpful & jolly staff, Katy in particular was bubbly yet professional.

What a pub! I love it so much I take every visitor I have in London there. The staff is what really makes the difference, although I can’t name them all, Nadira has always been warm and welcoming to us, going an extra mile to entertain my guests. I keep coming back! That’s the feature of a good local boozer

Smashing service. The bartender was amazing and accommodating to us Americans who were struggling. Got a fantastic recommendation on some food and we decided to come back because of how nice they were. I’m sad I never got the bartenders name because she was amazing and deserves recognition! Great recommendations and service, cannot recommend enough for anyone visiting or living in the area.
